Flight [2012]

An original story and great acting make flight a must see. It took me two years to finally watch this and yes you bet it was worth the wait! Whip Whitaker is the perfect role for Denzel Washington, he provides us with over two hours of solid entertainment.

Denzel Washington takes us on an emotional roller-coaster with Whip’s alcoholism and struggle to control it. I liked the gritty, edgy feel of the movie, the sense of reality in human emotion. Denzel really brings his arsenal of acting ability to the table, pulling off a very believable, outstanding performance.

Flight is a tale of tragedy, justice and redemption. The story is a good one and it kept me engaged right to end.

I was surprised that the co-pilot Ken Evans (Brian Geraghty) didn’t testify against Whitaker considering the anger he and his partner had toward him. I can only assume that his faith in God allowed him to forgive Whitaker.
