What Happens in Vegas
I can’t remember if it was the trailer or reviews that made me deliberately avoid this film when it was released a few years back. In the mood for a comedy I thought why not give What Happens in Vegas a go…

I have always been a fan of Ashton Kutcher & Cameron Diaz. More recently I have also enjoyed the acting of Rob Corddry after watching him in Hot Tub Time Machine. The cast in this film was good but not the same can be said about the story. What Happens in Vegas is a cliché in every sense of the word, nothing is left to chance, nothing is unexpected. The movie goes for an hour and a half, yet feels somewhat shorter than that with very little character development. On the other hand at times the movie is just plain boring and drawn out with nothing to look forward to (no surprises or twists) as the story develops.

One of the biggest disappointments of the movie is the unbelievable circumstances that present themselves over and over. I’m good at switching my brain off and just going with the flow in order to enjoy a movie, however this isn’t possible with What Happens in Vegas, some scenes are just too ridiculously implausible.

There wasn’t much to like in this movie Ashton Kutcher (Jack Fuller) is somewhat two dimensional with some unconvincing moments, especially during the emotional scene at the end. Cameron Diaz (Joy McNally) played her role well, as did Rob Corddry as “Hater”.

There were only a couple of mildly entertaining moments, most were boring. What Happens in Vegas was like watching a straight to dvd release, unless you are really hard pressed for a comedy i suggest you give this one a miss.
